Listed below are the different types of floor
sanding materials we provide:
Tungsten
Scraper The final “detailing”
clean up of the floor is made much easier by using a
tungsten scraper. This is a purchase item and is truly
amazing in its speed of operation. It gets behind radiator
pipes, into extreme corners etc. There is no other tool
on the market, either powered or hand, that works nearly
as well.
Filler There are
two types of filler used in wood floors: cellulose filler
for hardwood / parquet floors, and resin-based filler
for square-edged floorboards.
Cellulose filler is mixed
with the final fine sanding dust from the floor for
an invisible repair on hardwood floors.
Resin filler is used for square edged floorboards because
of its superior side bonding properties.
Brushes
We usually recommend brushes over rollers for
one off jobs as they give much better results
in most domestic situations: you can control the
amount of finish more accurately, spot the odd
bit of debris, get into corners etc. with a brush.
Rollers can cause foaming and require some familiarisation
to get good results.

The important
thing to remember is to use a good floor brush, 5 or
6 inches wide. Regular paint brushes are not suitable
as they don’t ‘load up’ with finish.
